City Of Río Cuarto Officially Says No To Monsanto

By decreet, the intendent of Río Cuarto, Juan Jure, ratified the rejection of the installation of a Monsanto plant in the city of Río Cuarto.

Jure dismissed the motion for reconsideration filed by the multinational, to install a pilot plant on Route 8, on the road to Holmberg.

The text only states that the petition of Monsanto was already answered in the opinion of the City Attorney 8,147 and confirms that the original response prevented the installation.

Jure had raised two arguments: that the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) did not meet the minimum requirements and that he sought to preserve social peace in the city.
