Asunción To Get Commuter Rai…Tram Network

Ferrocarriles del Paraguay SA (Fepasa) are designing a new commuter rail system for Asunción, which is one of the priorities for the Government of Paraguay as traffic in Asunción, Paraguay’s capital, has become increasingly chaotic.

Roberto Salinas, chairman of Fepasa, added that he had met with the government’s economy staff and that the project had been approved.

The system’s first phase will comprise the stretch of Asunción-Luque, and afterwards it will be extended to Ypacaraí.

Initially intended to become a commuter rail system, it’s now going to be operated by trams and it will be integrated with the city’s Metrobús network.
