Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Strikes Off The Coast Of Northern Chile

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off the coast of northern Chile, today 16 March.

Its epicentre was to be found 60 km west-northwest of Iquique, Chile, and its depth was 20 km, according to he USGS.

No injuries, casualties or material damage have been reported, but officials of The National Emergency Office of Ministry of the Interior and Public Security activated a precautionary tsunami warning along the coast and approximately 100,000 residents were evacuated from their homes.
