Romania’s living standards are the worst in European Union, whilst the poverty risk is the highest in the region, according to European Institute of Romania Director Gabriela Dragan.
“Better Life Index is a study with 11 classification categories. At EU level there is a definite preoccupation for the quality of life. The living standard in Romania places us last in the EU countries ranking, next to Bulgaria. Moreover, the risk of poverty is 41 percent in Romania, similar to Bulgaria’s, according to statistic indicators , equivalent to the lowest ranking among the member states.”
