Remembering The 2011 Tōhoku Earthquake And Tsunami

Three years have gone by since the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake.

The earthquake occurred at 14:46:23 Japan Standard Time and lasted for 6 whole minutes (!)
That’s an eternity when living through an earthquake. The depth was “only” 30 km, which is really shallow when it comes to these natural disasters.

As of 10 March 2014, 15,583 deaths have been recorded, 6,148 people have been injured, 2,633 people are still missing and about 270,000 victims are still displaced.

I wrote about the earthquake back in 2011, which you still can read here, here and here.
