The Mosaic Master – Saimir Strati

Albanian Artist Saimir Straiti, created a couple of years ago the largest mosaic of corks. This was done in Tirana, Albania. He used 229,764 corks of different shapes and colours to glue them together, creating this masterpiece. It measures 12.94 metres by 7.1 metres. He worked for 14 hours every single day during a period of 28 days.
The masterpiece was named “Romeo with a crown of grapes playing the guitar while dancing with the sea and the sun”.

He has previously (2006) made a nail mosaic of Leonardo Da Vinci.


This one measures 1.98 metres by 3.9 metres

It was followed up by a toothpick mosaic in 2007, which measured 2 metres by 4 metres.

This is the latest one, a paint brush Michael Jackson mosaic (2009).

And yes, all four masterpieces have made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
