Tours Tramway Is Already A Success

The Tours Tramway which was inaugurated on August 31, this year, is already a success. According to the latest figures, 45,000 people use the tram on a daily basis. It is a success considering that operator Keolis, is aiming for a daily ridership of 55,000 for 2018.

The city of Tours’ first modern line (Line A) was inaugurated on August 31, 2013. It stretches from “Tours Nord-Vaucanson” in the north, down to “Joué-lès-Tours-Lycée Jean Monnet” in the south. It is 14.8 km long and has 29 stops along the tramway route.

Tours, with a population of 138,000 people, is the capital of Indre-et-Loire department and it’s located in Centre region.
