How To Convert A Medieval Church Into A Bookstore

Today, as more and more churches gape empty, the ‘non-functionality’ requires a solution.
What to do? Tear them down or turn them into something else?
How about something else?

We’ll find the solution in the Netherlands.

For instance, the Broerenherk Church in the town of Zwolle. It was built in the 15th century but recently few were visiting it.

What to do then?

Ah! Turn it into a modern bookstore! A big and glorious one!

Who managed to accomplish that transformation?

BK Architecten.
