New Tvärbana Stretch Becomes Legally Binding

The new Tvärbana stretch to Solna city centre has become legally binding. The Solna city building department has approved the new detailed plan for the last stretch between the centre of Solna and Solna station. It’s now awaiting a passage of bill.

The stretch is part of the ongoing extension of the so called Tvärbana, a Stadtbahn-like ring system for the inner suburbs of the Greater Stockholm Area. It will have an extension of 7 km and will connect crucial points such as Alvik (underground and the Nockeybybana), Sundbybergs Centrum (underground and commuter train), Solna centrum (underground) and Solna station (commuter train).

Once inaugurated in 2013, it will take fifteen minutes to travel between Alvik and Solna station.
